Southeast Regional Representative Needed: Washington Young Lawyers Committee
The WSBA is accepting applications from members interested in serving as the Southeast Regional Representative on the Washington Young Lawyers Committee (WYLC) for an interim appointment through Sept. 30, 2019*.
1) Applicants must meet the WSBA "Young Lawyer" definition as of Jan. 1, 2019. Per WSBA Bylaws, active lawyer members of the Bar shall be considered Young Lawyers until whichever occurs later: the last day of December of the year in which the member attains the age of 36, or the last day of December of the fifth year after the year in which such member was first admitted to practice in any state.
2) In order to assure geographic diversity for purposes of outreach, twelve of the committee members are appointed on the basis of residing or working in specific geographic regions. For the Southeast Regional representative position, the member must reside or work in Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Walla Walla, or Whitman counties.

*Appointee may apply to serve an additional three-year term to begin on Oct. 1, 2019, provided that the appointee meets the eligibility requirements listed above at the time of re-application.

Volunteer positions on the many committees, boards or panels administered by the Bar are filled in the spring of each year. We will start accepting applications for the 2019-2020 committee year in January of 2019. Watch your email and this page for a link to the online application.
Get involved with the Washington Young Lawyers Committee
The Washington Young Lawyers Committee (WYLC) is a vehicle for new lawyers and law students to get involved with the Bar and a home to network and enhance leadership skills. Help develop programs for new and young lawyers, serve on a WYLC subcommittee, or become a young lawyer liaison to a WSBA section.
Put justice in reach for all on the Access to Justice Board
The Access to Justice Board, a Washington Supreme Court-created board administered by the Bar, works to achieve equal access to the civil justice system for those facing economic and other significant barriers. Volunteers are welcome to join any of the ATJ Board's committees at any time of the year.
